Sly One's work as a young DJ, producer and engineer won him the prestigous trance residency in 2004 at London's Planet Angel, a not-for-profit clubnight with a seven-year pedigree and the passionate following of thousands of clubbers. He has gone on to play at all the major London venues, each time causing a real stir. To many, his "sound" is as distinctive
as his DJing style, managing to whip up crowds into a euphoric frenzy
without the usual tricks and cliches. His first release was Gamma Storm on Magic Beans Records; a minor classic of its time which brought him to the attention of A-lister John "00" Fleming and gained massive support from DJs such as Godskitchen resident Jon O'Bir. Since then, both solo and in collaboration, his productions have garnered
support all over the world from most of the major names including Paul Van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Agnelli & Nelson , John "00" Fleming, Judge Jules, Dave Pearce, John O'Callaghan, Neal Scarborough, Jon O'Bir , Andy Bagguley, Marc West, Ian Betts , Niklas Harding and many more, plus inclusion on numerous retail compilations, including Dave Pearce's Delerium compilation on Ministry of Sound. Sly One also engineers for other dance producers, provides services as a mix engineer, and also acts a composer for film. Also, under his given name of Graham Crockford, he plays in his band Crossfader on keyboards and guitars, (handling production duties at the same time!) He sleeps as little as possible, can talk about music without
hesitation, repetition or deviation from the subject for several hours
at a time, owns a depressingly messy studio that never gets hoovered,
and lives with his girlfriend in London. He would like a cat. |
